Stellt die Entführung eines angeblich „illegitimen Präsidenten“ einen Präzedenzfall dafür dar, dass China seine Taiwan-Invasion beschleunigen kann?

they needed no precedent to do so if they desire, and there being a precedent isn’t going to stop the Us and Japan from stepping in if they do.

I think most people misunderstand that the US has officially launched the war for Taiwan. Venezuela’s energy exports mostly go to China and will now stop. Somaliland and South Yemen countries are being created to block exports and imports to China through red sea. I think the arabian gulf will be next.

The US has already initiated world war 3. We are just waiting for China to make the move.

  3. I don’t know, but it is eerily similar to Putin claiming Zelenskiy is „illegitimate“…

No, China has for decades said Taiwan is a rebel province that can be taken by force. China has never feigned peace. They’re very open with wanting to take it by force.

  5. China has manufactured domestic consent for decades over invading Taiwan. I don’t think they’re waiting for precedent

  6. I wonder what it’s like to be the US agents on the ground. Literally toppling foreign governments in 2026. Like how do they justify it to themselves? What are the mission parameters?

  7. Media really has a fetish for relating everything to China and Taiwan. I’ve read thousands of articles like this already…

  8. Russia already tried , but failed to do the same thing. So, no one really need a precedent.

Yes, I think it’s pretty big as a precedent. First, because Trump is acting by his own will and not even responding to Congress (let alone the UN or international law).

But most importantly because it establishes that America has the power to dethrone a sitting president (which, shall I remind, all international observers agree cheater on elections and is a dictator) without engaging in a war. In fact, this was done in a few hours with a limited military operation.

This is big because imagine being Iran’s regime right now. Or even China thinking about Taiwan. In the last few years it has become clear the west is still miles ahead in terms of military reach and power at a global level:
    – Russia as a paper tiger in Ukraine
    – Syria freed from Assad
    – Hezbollah and Hamas almost destroyed
    – Iran weakened
    – Russia’s own influence in the Middle East gone to almost zero due to the two points above

And everything happened without shedding a single drop of blood of American soldiers.
