Should just ban it for non-essential medical care, it’s fucking stupid

  2. NotoriousP_U_G on

Just ban it, it is removing a body part without it being medically necessary.

It is barbarically disgusting to do it because ‘god wants it’.

Cut bits off someone’s penis without concent, perfectly legal.
    Smoke a joint, you criminal!

  4. So, am I to take from this that the circumciser was likely not even a doctor? I don’t honestly think this procedure should be happening for non-medical reasons anyway but it’s an extra level of crazy to me that someone with no medical degree can be allowed to do this. I genuinely didn’t know it was legal to be able to do circumcision with no medical qualifications.

    >The coroner said there are no national safeguards governing non-therapeutic male circumcision, with no requirements for training, accreditation or registration of those carrying out the procedure, and no rules on record keeping, infection control or aftercare.

You are cutting into people with a scalpel or scissors, it’s minor surgery, sure… But it’s surgery. The training, accreditation and registration should follow what we have for other minor surgery.

Wait until people find out how the person carrying out the procedure attempts to stop the bleeding in certain religions.

  7. A good safeguard is to ban it outright unless medically necessary, or he is old enough to consent to a cosmetic procedure.

Mad how nobody recognizes this as genital mutilation

But a clitoral hood removal is rightly considered the end of the world

  9. Maybe ban it. It’s mutilation. People on this terf island love to complain about trans people mutilating kids but have no problem with this

Archaic, ridiculous, abuse of babies, in the name of gods. Ignorant cultists who won’t even use sterile instruments.

Religious belief and actions continue to be directly proportional to stupidity.

  12. yadasellsavonmate on

Isn’t mutilating girls already banned?  Should be banned for boys too unless its needed for a medical reason.

(Also thought that was Aintree hospital in the image too, looks very similar must have been made at the same time)

This is going to be a practice that decades from now is viewed the same way as doctors saying smoking is good for you.

If I wanted to cut off the left earlobe of my son I’d be put in prison. Regardless of the fact I declared my self god last week and made that a decree for all my offspring.

I fail to see why Muslims and Jews are allowed a far more brutal thing because of some lies in the past.

  15. I can understand foreskin removal if you live in a desert like area and hygiene is poor – like in the early first and second centuries – but doing it now is abhorrent, it serves no purpose and can cause issues with sexual pleasure and urination – it is male genital mutilation.

  16. Chilled-Fridge on

Lets just be honest, the only reason it isn’t banned is because Islam isn’t the only religion that circumcise their children. If it was, I’m sure the government would’ve outlawed it just like FGM.

  17. I support this, having lived all my life with the damage done by a doctor attempting to partially circumcise me at 18months with a pair of scissors in his surgery, then the ongoing agony of them (parents and doctor) trying to ensure the wound healed unclosed.
Have lived all my life with a fear of being touched that I didn’t associate with the botched circumcision until my late 50s, ruined a lot of good relationships.

  18. No-Patience6078 on

Ban it and punish the parents if they dont teach good hygiene to the kids.

  19. MATE_AS_IN_SHIPMATE on

Imagine pinning an adult to the ground and cutting off their earlobe with a knife, without their consent.

It’s GBH with intent and should be treated accordingly. If it goes badly wrong, then it’s murder.

  20. We banned FGM, a religious and cultural practice that involves mutilating young kids‘ genitals for no good reason. Why can’t we do the same for this?

And yes I know it’s much less severe, but it’s still cutting bits off boys for no good reason and it does come with risks.

If I were to invent a religion that stated that the last joint of the little finger was an affront to God and priests should remove it at birth, would that be ok? Even though you don’t really use that finger end for much and it wouldn’t seriously affect your life?

  21. One_Anteater_9234 on

If we cut off fingers we reduce the chance of ingrown fingernails. Why wouldnt you?! //s

It’s crazy that we spend so much time and money to protect child welfare and prevent abuse through social services, prevent, cahms, etc, we’re even blocking off parts of the internet with ID checks. But want to snip part of your child’s genitalia off? No problem.

It’s absolutely because the government are too weak to cross the two religious groups most affected; Jews and Muslims.

You not legal get a tattoo under 18, even with parental consent. But it’s ok for a parent to have part of their baby’s penis cut off without any medical need? Come on, it makes no sense.

Even before getting into the debate about whether it’s right or wrong, it’s insane that literally anyone can just do it.

  24. MoleWhackSupreme on

Ban it, and while the Muslims and Jews are  already mad about it ban Halal and Kosher slaughter too.

    End medieval religious practises

  25. ReggaeReggaeBob on

Why is Male Genital Mutilation still allowed in this country????

In cases where this is a medical reason, absolutely!

To appease your r*tarded shared delusion that a big man in the Sky wants you to lob bits of your kids c*ck for him? Get f*cked you wrong-un c*nts

  26. Shouldn’t be allowed in this country at all full stop. Don’t care if your religious, go to the country that accepts something so fucked up and live there. Just stop taking parts of babies bodies and leave them be.

  27. MissAntiRacist on

Should make it illegal and arrest anyone who forces their sons through it without their content and entirely against their will. It’s time for the rights of boys to catch up. They deserve protection too.

  28. Go to an American-majority group and they all say it’s necessary for health reasons and all this other bollocks. Soap and contraception is extremely easy to get here, we don’t need to mutilate boys on the off-chance they get a penis condition. Should start lopping off all body parts *just in case*.

It’s ridiculous and outdated. It needs banning unless carried out by medical professionals and anyone who performs a religious circumcision gets prison time, including the parents. Fucking scum.

  29. Genital mutilation of kids should be banned. Adults should be able to choose if they so desire.

Isn’t 6 months a bit old? I thought they did it at a few days or weeks old.
