  1. Please let Finland do this before Sweden. Its so tiring that politicians refuse to do anything unless its been already „“tested““ in the rest of the Nordics.

And I’d rather have people zonked out and snacking at the park, instead of drunks yelling at people.

Becoming a EU powerhouse of legal cannabis manufacturing could greatly help the finnish economy IMO. alot more countries are gonna follow in the coming years if finland as always gonna be last there is no change for a competive industry to develop.

  3. I don’t use cannabis myself, I feel very sick if I do. But I absolutely hope recreational use becomes legal. Set it up so there is government supervision, some tax revenue and all that. It’s such a harmless substance compared to alcohol and tobacco.

  4. The economy needs a major boost. There is a lot of tourism money to tap into here too. And jobs to be created. Hope they would not limit it to government stores tho. Thats just a wrench in the possibilities of services that could be provided.

I do not support this because already people smoking normal cigarettes are such nose and eye sore and I dont want any more people to poison the air.

    Weed smells so damn disgusting.

Edit: Aparrently I need to clraify that I have nothing agaisnt weed itself. My problem is that you cannot smoke weed without poisoning air in whole nearby area.

If we wanted to be smart and make major moves agains our current unemployment issue we would fast track legalization and create an entire industry of jobs over night – growers, distributors, compliance and oversight, a tonne of additional products and heaps of tax revenue. But we won’t

the large parties are all against it. so dream on. idiotism is a core philosophy in this political climate.

  8. ”Arto Satonen, a fellow National Coalition MP, also opposed the move. He described it as alarming and warned of cannabis being a pathway to harder drugs.”

Funny thing is that this ”gateway drug” thing only works if cannabis is illegal and when its treated as some evil drug you buy from drug dealers selling all sorts of things, while ”education” in schools telling ”drugs are bad mmkay”, putting cannabis and heroin in same box. So natirally when kids realise that the adults straight up lied about cannabis, it makes them wonder if they also lied about amphetamines, opiates, a-pvp etc. and are more likely to try them. Instead treating it as normal thing like alcohol, but milder than alcohol.

This is the most stupid iniative considering well known risks seen elsewhere where pot use is legal. Young people already seem to have increased mental health issues and products that can promote or trigger more severe mental health issues and psychosis is exactly what we need. And other side effects like cognitive decline and disorders.

Our public health care is already on edge and we don’t really need pot heads to make it worse. Yes, there are experiences that use of pot increase emergency visits and admissions related to pot use.

  10. I hope they don’t. Have they not been to all the other cities that thought this was a great idea. The stench alone is enough to make me gag just remembering, nevermind the effectively unusable public transport, unless of course you want to feel like you’re in a hot box without the smoke

As long as smoking cannabis remains banned, I’m completely fine with allowing other forms of consumption.
