Ich bin derzeit ein Tourist in der Gegend von Larnaca. Ich weiß, dass es auf Zypern viele Katzen und Organisationen gibt, die ihnen helfen und sich um sie kümmern. Heute haben wir einen jungen und äußerst freundlichen Kater in der Nähe des Flusswegs bei Kakopetria gesehen. Er wäre fast in meine Tasche gesprungen und hätte förmlich darum bettelt, mitgenommen zu werden. Mir fiel auf, dass er eine Beinwunde am linken Bein hatte. Was können wir als Touristen tun? Ich dachte darüber nach, ihn zu fangen, aber was dann? Ohne Termin zum Tierarzt zu fahren wäre keine Garantie für eine direkte Behandlung und ich kann ihn nicht in meinem Hotelzimmer behalten. Ich bin auch fast 2 Stunden mit dem Auto entfernt. Die Logistik ist alles andere als ideal und ich reise in ein paar Tagen ab. Kennen Sie Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen oder Katzenliebhaber in der Gegend, die helfen könnten? Ich kann Tierarztrechnungen finanzieren, solange sie nicht extrem hoch sind.
Und ja, ich weiß, dass es viele Katzen gibt, die Hilfe brauchen … Aber diese hier war jung und sehr freundlich. Die Wunde war tief, aber frisch und konnte bei richtiger Behandlung gut heilen. Er wäre adoptierbar. Andernfalls würde sogar TNR helfen und ihn als gesunde Katze wieder in seine Gemeinschaft zurückbringen, ohne jedoch das Risiko einzugehen, dass er weitere Würfe zeugt. Mir brach das Herz, als ich diesen Kerl verlassen musste

You know, there are more than a million cats in Cyprus. There are refuges, but there is so little room for adoption, when there are more cats than humans…
If you really want to help this cat in particular – and trust me wounded cats are pretty much everywhere, dead cats and kitties too – go to the vet and pay for the treatment. But honestly, it won’t change anything, I know it’s cruel, but man when you live in Cyprus, you come to see dead kittens and cats monthly if not weekly.
There are cat sanctuary on the island, you can call them and give them the cat + give them a donation for the cat to be fed.
But yeah if you want to help this cat, you should adopt it. Maybe you could ask a sanctuary to keep the cat so when you come back you can have it?
Idk really. But yeah the sad reality with cats in Cyprus is that you can find a super friendly cat, and they will disappear from a day to another. I’m there since 2022 and the oldest cat I see on the daily is one that I probably saw at the first time as a kitty late 2023.
So yeah, thank you for trying to help, hope other members will guide you towards a solution for this one.

You’re absolutely right, the best way to help would be to get him seen by a vet both for his injury and for him to be neutered. Vet costs shouldn’t be too high if you’re willing to sponsor it (unless a medical procedure like amputation is needed which shouldn’t be the case here). I’m unfortunately not familiar with any people or groups near that area but hopefully someone here will have better information. Thank you for wanting to help this kitty.
I know a few Telegram chats for people doing catctivism, they helped neuter a local mama cat and grabbed 2 of her nice-looking kittens to find a home for them, but they are mostly in Russian.
