In a way the government needs to educate people to turn leaves and wood into compost, people also burn branches after they do their autumn pruning as well, however the ministry of environment said something very important about the chemicals they spray. Even if you compost those leaves, the chemicals stay in them, eventually ending up in your compost and in the soil, that’s not great. One of the worst of these chemicals is the fungicide, as leaves break down by fungus too, the available fungicide in the leaves significantly effects its decay into compost.
