I don’t think people realize how big the cartels are. Some of them are a state within a state.

Offer the cartels special privileges like looking the other way regarding creating companies or money laundering/ land buying, asset acquisitions etc. In return they halt all operations concerning drug smuggling. Than watch the us scramble as hundreds of millions of dollars vanish. Lol. Of course. Thoughts like this are the reason I will never be president of any country. If I made my own 1 person sovereign nation with a population of 1. I still would trust myself to govern it.

The US government really doesn’t care about the cartels. They only publicly ask so they can say they tried. It’s all about PR points. “Fighting” drugs is a business just as lucrative as selling.

The US has fought a war on drugs for decades.. And drugs won.

Maybe it’s time to reevaluate the strategy. BTW “Mexico first” is a hilarious clap back considering the whole Trump fiasco of recent years.

As a Canadian, fuck him. His country and their dregs kill more of my countries citizens than any other.

what if we just labeled cartels as terrorist organizations and drone strike them?

Lol if the USA legalized and regulated common recreational drugs – all manufactured via govt facilities – they’d kick the chair from under the cartels. Legalize and tax sex workers and human trafficking also becomes less profitable. But no- we can’t be seen as condoning immoral behaviour despite the fact people will continue to do this shit forever.
