      Why are people surprised that a political leader is acting like a typical political actor?

      Pope is a political leader, not spiritual. All popes have always been.

      They even make Erdogan do this. It’s kind of like North Korea in that aspect. Not saying you are wrong, but it is what it is. The first 20 years of Turkey are no different than NK anyways.

      As a Mexican Catholic I apologize if this upset my Christian brothers and sisters in the Caucasus region and Middle East. I pray for a united Christian front against those that mean to harm our way of life.

      So did Catholicos Vasken the First. And he is probably the most popular church leader of recent times.
      If he can do it and get good publicity, why can’t the pope?

      Turkey and Iran are both similar, muslim countries, roughly equal population and with regional influence, but he’s doing this in Turkey and not Iran because Turkey is a NATO ally

      That man does not get the hate he truly deserves, and I utterly resent how people even outside of Turkey fawn at him all because he’s “secular”.

      Who cares about this! The real news is the turks losing their shit over the Pope’s visit. There are countless videos of them seeing this as a big „fuck you“ to their existence because the Ottomans didn’t allow the Pope to visit Turkey and nor did Ataturk. Yet the clown in charge literally rolled out the red carpet for his arrival.

      Look..it’s not pretty, but didn’t Jesus say „forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing“? Yes it’s disappointing but you guys throwing so much hate , you are just like them, only thinking you are better.

      Accept that humans are imperfect and they will fall astray, no matter how small or big
