      Only three countries — the United States, Israel and Argentina — voted against the resolution, standing alone in opposing what is widely regarded as a fundamental human-rights norm. Several countries, including Russia, Nicaragua, Burundi, and Papua New Guinea, abstained rather than take a position.

      WTF Iran is Green. They have such cruel punishments. How can they vote favour if they practice it.

      Bad internet. Image won’t load. My prediction, the USA, Isreal, and Russia are the only ones for torture. Nearly every other nation in the world voted against torture.

      Whats stopping countries from being in favour of it but still doing it anyway, just hidden. Like many governments probably do awful things without us noticing.

      It was likely proposed or supported by a cabal of states among the axis of Evil. This just shows how the UN is a completely useless organization hijacked by states that sponsor Evil such as China and Iran, to allow them to grandstand and shame the Free World, in the name of global unity which actually only seeks to preserve the status quo system where these hellholes are allowed to continue terrorizing the world and whitewash their reputation. It is high time to disband the UN and hold the axis of Evil accountable militarily, politically, and economically.

      It’s crazy how many countries voted that they’re favouring non-torture, but in practice, when push comes to shove and they have hostages, they certainly do torture them (e.g. North Korea, Eritrea, Yemen, etc.).

      This is bullshit because North Korea voted against torture and they’re the ones that invented like 20 new torture methods

      Yes I’m sure North Korea, Iran, Egypt, Eritrea and others are all about human rights and definitely don’t torture people. Kind of shows how ineffective these types of votes actually are.

      I got a lot more respect for America for at least having the balls to publicly admit to it

      Every UN resolution is just a dig at the U.S., Russia or China and brought to the table just to prove a point cause the resolution will get like 180 votes to 2-3 nays. Its like that food is a human right vote where the U.S. and Israel were the only ones to vote no, yet the U.S. was funding the majority of the U.N.’s global food initiative. It’s total bullshit.

      The number of countries who use torture that voted in favour shows just how ridiculous this resolution is.
