Ngl, as a Texan, kinda salty we’re not up there on the happy list.
NJ at 63? Yea this graph is a fucking lie.
The wealthier you are and the more you have your basic needs met the happier you are…. Plus good beach weather.
I moved to Maryland a little over a year ago and I’m shocked it’s #2. Everyone here is so cold, grouchy and pessimistic all the time.
I live in New York City. I feel this study may be flawed.
Bullshit map
Yeah, bullshit bait.
Another Upper Midwest Win 🍻🌽🌾🇩🇪🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮
I see that West Virginia is attempting to overtake Mississippi in negative metrics lately. Usually, that’s its immediate neighbors‘ (AL, AR, LA) job.
Compare it with map of highest suicide rares. Are those really the happiest states or did all the sad people kill themselves and so the people remaining are skewing the results [suicide rates by states](https://fherehab.com/learning/suicide-rate-by-state)
And West Virgina politicians are talking about annexing parts of Virginia and Maryland.
Maybe focus on doing your job and on your own backwards state.
From what I’ve seen, the state of denial is probably the highest state we have in America.
No way MA is that high.
NJ can’t be that high
Maryland at #2? lol I guess fentanyl makes people feel happy
This map misses out on the friendship, partying, get togethers, music, whatever you want to call it in each area. Louisiana rates pretty high there. So do other areas.
Also the satisfaction of sports, hobbies, conversation, working out or jogging, walking, cooking, gardening etc.
I’ve barely touched the surface.
Hey Florida, meth is doping
It would be interesting to check this map vs 2024 elections
I know for a fact people in NY are unhappy. NY should be the most red here cz we’re miserable
This map is highly regarded
Erm… I’d like to call bullshit but you never know how people are measuring happiness…
Do we still use the big mac index and the world happiness report?
As someone who was born and raised in SD, I’m convinced that 1/2 of the people reporting that they’re happy in SD only do so because they’re afraid that someone might judge them for complaining and/or being ungrateful.
Compare this with a map of median wealth/income
Mainer here, this feels about right
Yes – West Virginia. What a shock.
Where is the map which compares WalletHub to how people actually feel, so quit learning to believe WalletHub?
I’ve been to Nebraska, and if this map is anywhere close to accurate, that’s proof that happiness is a state of mind
I wonder why adult depression is so high in Maine. My wife and I love it there it’s one of our favorite places to vacation. We are considering retiring there. In the Bangor area. The north east looks like a bunch of potato growing Evangelicals. That would be depressing.
