    1. I have to wake up around 6 am Thrice a week. Cant sleep before midnight.. how do you guys do that?

    2. Without having any proof I would hypothesize that sleep duration correlates well with a region being it the correct timezone. This would be an interesting follow-up map.

    3. Another neck and neck in the eternal battle between Finland and The Netherlands

i’m doing my part, making the dutch sleep duration as long as possible 😴

    5. Having lived both in Italy and the UK, I feel like one of the major differences is the fact that schools in the UK open almost an hour later. I can’t quite speak on the work environment because I was young but, I’m guessing people also generally start work a little bit later. Having said that, I don’t think this map counts afternoon naps, which skews the numbers a bit. In Southern Italy, it’s very common for shops to have 3-4 hours breaks during lunch exactly for this. The only issue is shops are also open up to 9pm. In the North of Italy as well as the UK, most shops close by 7pm

Research shows that the average sleep time required for humans is five more minutes 😉
