    1. It’s crazy how some Americans look at Latin America as backwards when in terms of social issues we are not that far behind. In fact some countries in Latin America were ahead of the US in regards to LGBT rights.

I’m surprised North Korea and Greenland has data this time other than that cool map to bring people to knowing how harsh lgbt people have to live in other countries

How is the USA less than Nepal in this ranking? It doesn’t make sense at all.

Is the US based on early 2025 or late 2025? Because there were some changes in the past months

    5. Looks clean and informative maps like this really show how uneven progress still is, even in 2025.

the category seems so broad, being trans isn’t the same as being gay. i wonder if any maps exist that show the progression of trans rights alone

Israel being green is hilarious, no wonder neighboring countries hate them /j

    8. Botswana and Namibia FTW. Bring it in from the bottom up – it worked for South America

Not sure why switzerland is so much lower than germany? At least for trans people, switzerland seems easier to transition.

    10. This is a good map but I think it might be useful to split this into sexuality and gender identity. For example in the U.S. gay rights have progressed significantly, but transgender equality is still a ways off. Meanwhile in some parts of the world it is more taboo to be gay than transgender and gender affirming surgery is protected.

I expected Scandinavian nations to be purple, since they always top HDI charts.

    13. I’m surprised my country is the same color as Mongolia, Perù, Suriname, Moldova, India, etc, or below Slovenia, Czech Republic, Israel, Cyprus and Nepal. That said, Italy is not Canada or Norway, but at least it’s not Somalia or Afghanistan lol

Anyway, I’m pleasantly surprised to see Vietnam, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Suriname, India, Perù, etc high

    14. My country (India) can do a lot better but at least we better than majority of our neighbours ig?

why the hell is germany higher than the nordic countries, isn’t Sweden like the LGBTQ+ heaven?

    16. Many countries make it „legal“ not because they accept homosexulity but to avoid sanctions like DRC

„Gender marker changes“ automatically skews the data and stamps it as queer ideology.

Suprised by scandinavia, that they are not in the same categroy as us. All germanic countrys have 100 except, GB, Ireland, Norway and Sweden, which suprises me.
