When people say: „they are going to send all our jobs to india“ in tech, this is what I think.

India is like a bahrain, on top of UK, on top of brazil. There’s a ton of people, but not the educationally opportunities to ever replace our knowledge workers.

I would’ve guessed Equatorial Guinea and Gabon have higher GDP per capita.

      But Cameroon is surprising.

Yes please show me more posts about India. I really love to know about this country on an international sub /s

    4. Iraq,Libya have hight gfp per capita than India but that doesn’t mean they’re a better place to live

    5. Such a shame that billions of people are forced to live in poverty because they don’t understand basic economics. Even Modi admitted that India had achieved nothing in 60 years of independence.

GDP per capita is low because of some states in northern and eastern India like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. Even though caste discrimination has been declining for decades, people still vote for candidates of their own caste, even if those candidates have multiple criminal cases or own disproportionate amounts of property.
They often say, *“Naukri agar nahi hai toh kya hua, moochh toh bachi hai na.”*
Meaning : “So what if I don’t have a job?, at least my moustache (symbol of pride/ego) is still intact.”

It will change in a lot of Green countries because of Indian Immigration

    9. And yet its growth rate is not even close to two digits….
Being safe/stable and the most populated country is basically the only reason it’s growing at all.

per capita stats for the biggest population has its limitations and doesn’t paint the right picture

GDP per capita is a fictional number, with a dubious calculation method, not worth taking seriously. You simply divide the total GDP of the year, with the number of population. And this manner of calculation doesn’t actually reflect a nation’s actual financial position. It ignores income inequalities, it ignores taxation, it ignores employment, purchasing power parity, etc. I won’t use it as a sole parameter to judge a country.

Case in point, do you really think Gazans have a better financial position than Bharatiyas?

    12. Considering how inexpensive items are in India when we compare to other nations, I expect India to be at a lower end

It doesn’t matter dude, as long as it’s higher than Pakistan they will feel on top of the world.

lol. This is not adjusted for PPP, India has a very low exchange rate, even for its level of development. Look at PPP per capita India is richer the Jordan.
