Romanian in the diaspora here. We love Armenian restaurants! Romanians understand what being caught between multiple empires means, so we empathize with Armenians!
I think we are similar in some ways, I am living in Western Europe and I feel people from the Caucasus are generally the closest to us. I just don’t really know about the “outgoingness”, I feel Balkan people are more outgoing, in my experience Armenians are not cold af like Russian but not the “come into my home for a drink stranger” types as well
Romanian here. I never visited Armenia, but i would love to. I started listening to a lot of music, learning some words and expressions and reading stuff about the armenian genocide after i discovered Ladaniva last year before Eurovision. I am obsessed with them. [I also have a 12 hours playlist of armenian music on spotify](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/36idTkMIuc2FwrdmntV9aX?si=yRxJxkKZRoGPfInv-7ID3w&pi=ze1VryAFQzOV8). I love the sound of the duduk.
From what i read, romanians and armenians have always been friends. The armenian community in Romania is pretty significant. We even have “the armenian neighbourhood” in Bucharest, wher we also have an armenian church.
[Also, one of the most important restaurants in Bucharest was founded by an armenian merchant and diplomat, Emanuel Marzayan, better known as Manuc Bey. It is called “Hanu’ lui Manuc”, literally meaning Manu’s inn.](https://www.hanulluimanuc.ro/en/)
we dont like armenians.
I don’t know to what extent my opinion represents other greeks but i respect armenia. I am very pissed at greek leftists who host yearly protests for palestine but none for karabakh. To be more specific, i support palestine but the fact that greek leftists fanatically protest for palestine while being indifferent to similar atrocities committed against one of the closest nations to greece betrays the fact that they only protest for social validation to the detriment of people like you who need all the support they can get.
Also Romanian. Technically we are not Balkans but culturally 100% we are in the balkans. I have lived for 6 months in Yerevan and traveled around Armenia a little bit and I can confirm that Armenians are pretty similar to Balkans but what I have felt being there is that Armenians are not as funny as the Balkans and they get a lot easier upset and hold grudge, must be the Soviet influence.
Otherwise in terms of food , relationships, party , barbecue love and drinking we are like brothers from another mother. And I appreciated a lot the discipline and commitment to work and study of the armenians that I have met which is not as common in the balkans
Personally, according to all knowing Trump, bearer of… „peace“… we Armenians are so close to Albanians that we can adopt the same name sometimes./s
