Ich habe kürzlich den ursprünglichen Haeju Oh Clan Jokbo (족보) meines Großvaters entdeckt, ich habe die Clan-Organisation in Korea kontaktiert und sie bestätigten, dass unsere Familie offiziell im Seongcheon-gong-Zweig (성천공파) aufgeführt ist, und hatten weitere Informationen über meinen Großvater, als er seine Prüfungen und seine Regierungstitel bestanden hatte.
Aus den Notizen, die er hinterlassen hat, und aus dem, was ich von Familienmitgliedern erfahren kann, hat mein Großvater sehr hart daran gearbeitet, seine Abstammung zu verfolgen und zu dokumentieren, bevor es das Internet gab. Ich studiere jetzt das Format und die Struktur, um zu verstehen, wie jeder Eintrag aufgezeichnet wird, damit ich die Informationen unserer Familie in ihrem Namen aktualisieren kann.
Ich hoffe herauszufinden, wie alt sein Exemplar des Jokbo ist, und einige Ressourcen für die Übersetzung einiger seiner Notizen zu finden. Ich habe verschiedene LLMs und OCRs ausprobiert, aber einige sind in klassischem Chinesisch geschrieben und können nicht übersetzt werden.

One paper says 吳氏源流 (오씨 원류), you know.
The book is a Japanese-Japanese dictionary, with a few words and pages marked, including 舜 (순, emperor name), 帝 (제, emperor), 黄 (황, yellow), 姬 (희, woman’s name), etc. Maybe he was trying to come up with a name?
It’ll take some time for me to parse the letter (in „Classical Chinese cursive“, well, you’d call this ‚행서‘ to be exact) but the Hanjas are pretty much legible.
To tell how old is this Jokbo we’d need a few more pages, but — does it matter? Usually one uses this Jokbo to find where they lie in the lineage…

Not cursive at all IMO.
Generally, genealogy books (jokbo) are continuously newly compiled as descendants increase, and the genealogy book you possess appears to have been newly made quite recently, judging by the condition of the paper and the writing style.
The date of the final compilation can usually be roughly estimated based on the most recent descendant recorded in the genealogy book, if a separate compilation date is not provided.
This is a copy; the original is likely kept by the eldest member of the family.
