Speaking to the elderly members of some ‚ethnikofrono somateio‘ . When is the next election?
The flag on the top left with the big cross is not used in Greece anymore as it is associated with the monarchy and the military dictatorship

Junior greece? Are you kidding me? Don’t be like the turks bro, here is CYPRUS

First time? The modern Cypriot has no identity. He needs to pretend hes plays a part of some wide abstract idea of Greek diaspora. Eventhough we haven’t been a part of any sort of Greek state for the last 800 years.

Come on, you can’t really be serious with this take. That photo doesn’t represent the overall attitude of Cypriots, and definitely not of Christodoulidis himself, who’s far more moderate on these issues. He was just attending an event organized by the organisation for the political prisoners of EOKA. Naturally, there are Greek flags there, EOKA members literally fought for union with Greece. It’s only logical that such symbols would appear in that context.

This doesn’t mean that the venue, the flags, or the event reflect the stance of the Cypriot government or of Christodoulidis personally. At the end of the day, it’s simple politics, he’s trying to appeal to older, patriotic voters. It’s a standard move, nothing more.

So what’s the problem ? Same language, same ethnicity, same religion. And don’t give me the left bullshit that Cypriot is a separated language , it’s a dialect not different language.

Go to turkey with your brothers if you don’t like the greek flag

  7. Thinking that the history and culture of Cyprus started in 1960 is crazy…

Sorry, you can’t erase 3000 years just because.

  8. One day cypriot brothers and sisters, we will wake from our romanticization of history and our self-projection as a divine and saint peoples. One day we will reflect truly on our wrong doings and possibly fill the shell of the society we created. One day we will get the identity we so desperately chase after. And that will be truly a golden day. One day.

Guys, Azerbaijanis consider themself Turkish, they are multiple times more nationalistic than mainland Turkey.
You can not harm Turkey’s flag in Azerbaijan without someone attacking you.

However, in the history of Azerbaijan, it has never been seen before for a politician to appear without an Azerbaijan flag and only with a Turkish flag, let alone the president.

So don’t fool your selfs. It is just pathetic.

Even the church of Cyprus is separated from the Patriarchate of Antioch.

Acting autonomous but not independent is weird.

But you can see this also in the Cyprus National Guard, which had and has only Lieutenants of the Hellenic Military (Military of Greece) as Chiefs.
