Hallo,

That’s f-up!! If you found old treasure in your backyard the gov will take it, but you found a problem? You have to pay!

    Goodluck solving this issue 🔥🔥🔥

Wait, they make you pay even tho you are forced to report them for removal? I mean you have no choice. ANF should take care of it. Do not go with cheapest in this situation, you want them propperly removed and the removal needs to be done with specialized equipement. I would take the advice of ANF and then contact the ombudsmann if they actually make you pay.

In all honesty it is in their best interest to remove this deadly invasive species. I would make it very clear to them. This is a case where the government needs to pay, not the people.

If you wanna know how it needs to be done: [https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/a/2350955.html](https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/a/2350955.html)

Are these nests inhabited by more than one hornet (the queen) during winter?

  4. We also reported one nearby but it was in a super high tree.

During winter the nest will die out, by this time the new queen will have left and burrow itself in the ground over winter, so there’s not that much point to removing the nest anymore.

The species has proliferated so much over the last few years that it’s deemed a lost cause at this point.
