Yup. My feelings as well. Just legalize it already, like the rest of the world. Criminalizing this is just dumb at this point
Cyprus has the stupidest drug laws.
Technically, medicinal cannabis production is legal in Cyprus. However if you look and the requirements for getting a license, you can see it’s the clueless orangutangs in parliament who wrote it.
Could have been a nice little industry, but no, we can’t have logical things.

The guy is 81. Unless he was dealing I think it’s a bit harsh to imprison him. But then again laws are laws indiscriminately.

Their insistence on framing the 81 year old man as a drug dealing criminal is beyond sad. Nothing has changed in the past 30 years, these mouth breathers remain pathetic.
They didn’t arrest some old man who was growing a pot for home use. They had an elaborate setup to grow and dry out the buds.
The old man probably took the hit to protect his son or whoever wss growing this shit as he probably has too many health issues at 81 to be jailed.
But I agree. Legalize it, have it grow under proper conditions without nuking it with fertilizers and pesticides that end up inside you. Instead of shady people making a fortune have legit business which will offer job positions and pay taxes.

If it’s illegal then whether he is 18 or 81, the law needs to apply exactly the same. In the case of cannabis, I really don’t understand why it’s illegal when alcohol and tobacco is legal. In general, our laws on cannabis are not in any way suitable for the times we live in. Legalize it, regulate it, collect tax revenue from it and focus on more serious problems. Every country that has done this has seen problems disappear rather than drug use soar.
Cannabis laws in Cyprus are absurd. Leave the guy alone
