Martiros Sian House-Museum 🎨

Interestingly, you can bring some of the paintings to life in this museum using a special app. I really liked how this was done with the painting „Self-Portrait. Three Ages.“ In this painting, Sarian described how his views on creativity changed during three different periods of his life.

The museum also has many paintings of Yerevan and other Armenian cities. Regarding Yerevan, the artist has several paintings of houses with wooden balconies, popular in his youth. In his later years, such houses became fewer, and he regretted not having painted more of them earlier. I also particularly liked the painting of the still-operating copper-chemical plant in Alaverdi, because I had passed it twice on the bus before and seen its current dire state.
