Urartu had several tribes, and during the time they became 1 nation(prototype of Armenians)

The Van Urartians are the closest paleo-DNA for modern Armenians.
There are five DNA samples from the capital of Urartu, Tushpa (the modern city of Van). One of them is an outlier close to the samples of that time from the territory of modern Armenia. The other four have a somewhat different genetic profile, but they are all close to modern Armenians. And they turn out to be especially close on an average basis. Such proximity of their average genetic profile to modern Armenians testifies to the origin of our population from them.
Culturally and genetically modern day Armenians are mix of local Etiuni and other people and Urartians.
