  1. You’re right it’s the one at the bottom, or at least that’s the one I’ve been using.

  2. I only have temporary permits, but one at the bottom stays with you all the time, and the top one is the id plastic card number. I think using the bottom one is better

Never noticed that the one on top was different 😅

I use the bottom one. Only the last actual numbers ie 0000582012, you type 582012

This feels rather surreal to encounter here randomly but „Afroditi“ is my cousin IRL lol

The top one with the CR is the id number, the bottom one is your personal number. When you scan it with id scanner (wizzair for example). It will use the top one. It’s also on the other side of the id at the bottom with the list of other codes. That’s the international format.

The one on the bottom. And it’s fairly important you point it out to people when dealing with official documents. The clerk at the government offices in Greece used the top one on my ID which sent me into a bureaucratic nightmare trying to resolve..

You use the bottom one. That’s your National Identification Number. Also it is stated on the card. The one on top is the document number of the physical card. Think of it as a serial number. It’s mostly for internal official tracking of the physical card as a security feature and it changes every time you replace your card. Your ID number doesn’t change.

  8. It’s the one on the top right because that’s the document number… not the ID number on the bottom.

  9. This is infuriating, right? Obviously, your ID number is the one at the bottom, and it remains the same all your life… And then there are EU countries out there who take top number of the plastic card itself when you do online check-in. I find it super annoying and stupid. If this unified system was made for the whole EU, why can’t they follow unified interpretation.
