MAGA is furious at the thought of Russia getting hit. They’re much more comfortable with American factories being targeted.

    2. jpg06051992 on

No he does not, Trump has boondoggled this entire scenario, total failure of a president.

    3. mediocre_remnants on

Of course they don’t need the US’s permission. But they do need the US weapons, and the US could stop giving them weapons if they decide to strike deeper into Russia.

Zelensky, you tell off Donald Trump! Stand up to the BIG, BAD, BULLY! Tell him to go to HELL! Who knows! Maybe Satan wouldn’t even want Trump! Who would want to spend all of eternity with Trump!

Krasnov Trump has been doing his best to undermine Ukraine and help Vladdy Daddy at every turn.

    6. Ukraine has at this point, developed long range strike technologies (mostly drones) that is *equal to or better* than American systems being provided to them; the leverage the USA has on Ukraine is going to gradually taper off as this conflict goes on it would seem.

There you go. Quit playing by their rules, it’s obvious the US government doesn’t have your best interest in mind

Perhaps Russia shouldn’t start wars, it can barely function as a nation anyway.

    9. ID-10T_Error on

This should be and is a lesson for any country that has thought about giving up their nukes in any situation. this should never be an option moving forward if you want to guarantee your sovereign survival. The world will be forever more dangerous because of this.

    10. That was my biggest complaint with Biden. I know what he was trying to avoid early on but war is war and one must fight all out to win it once it begins. That half measure stuff was bullshit. Biden: You can do this but you can’t do that. Yeah Putin is launching shit from Russia but don’t attack Russia directly we don’t wanna make him angry! 😡 what?

Trump is looking for a way to get people to turn on Ukraine and give him an excuse to do even less for them than he’s doing now.

What needs to happen is for St Petersburg and Moscow to become the new Dresden.

    13. This statement will cost him, USA in last 20 years want obedient vassals, not states that make their own decisions. And Trump is a narcissistic egoist who does not condone disobedience.

    14. The „deal“ that Trump made is that US no longer gives weapons to Ukraine. Instead, they are sold to Europe, so AMERICA WINS.
If they are sold to Europe, then it’s no longer America’s business what and how friendly countries use them to defend themselves or retaliate.

US is fascist and on Russia’s side they are the enemy of democracy do not work with or listen to the US

    16. ItsNotMe_ImNotHere on

Unfortunately Ukraine needs American intelligence (that’s an oxymoron) to target them.

    17. TasteIllustrious7585 on

Damn straight, Ukraine is fighting for their existence, and the free world should be doing more.

    18. He would have done better to just do it without saying anything about it.

Now he’s put himself in a position of looking like he won’t do what the US wants, which Trump will interpret as insubordination because he considers all world leaders other than Putin to be his staff.

If he’d just used the munitions without asking for permission or publicizing what particular missiles and bombs were used, he’d have given the US administration some plausible deniability when Putin came calling on his bitch, the POTUS, to account.

    19. Curious-Package-9429 on

I mean, they don’t, but they won’t hit Russian interior. US provides the weapons to keep the Frontline from collapsing.

    20. The United States lost leverage over Ukraine when they stopped paying for the defense of Europe. All the European militarization means they can get their goods from elsewhere

    21. FluffyCommunity4681 on

No we know Trump is absolutely on Putin’s side, how far will he take that to Ukraine’s detriment?

    22. probablyNotARSNBot on

He needs US permissions to strike Russia with US missiles which Trump is preventing

    23. No-Presentation-3543 on

Well, the U.S. is the one providing most of Ukraine’s defense, like the Patriot missiles that keep Kyiv and other cities from falling. They also supply Starlink and satellite intel, and the U.S. has more satellites than the rest of the world combined, so Ukraine stays connected, tracks drones, and knows exactly what they’re hitting. On top of that, the U.S. directly funds hospitals, schools, and public services so they keep running.

I’m all for Ukraine striking back at Russia, it’s about damn time, but they won’t do it without U.S. approval if they want to keep getting those critical funds and weapons.

And Trump is looking for any way out of this war to continue his push to USA isolationism… so if Zelenskyy wants to give him an excuse out he probably take it as soon as he gives him the chance.

    24. No-swimming-pool on

Well they don’t. But I suppose they need US weapons after these.

I’m not pro limitations by the way, but I don’t think they’ll win much by making Trump halt support again.

    25. Ukraine *especially* doesn’t need US permission to strike Russia when the US isn’t providing weapons or support in a meaningful way. If Trump wants leverage over Ukraine, he needs to flood the country with weapons, and then he can make *some* demands on how they are used, because he will have some *leverage*. Right now, what leverage does he have? None, and he’s an arrogant moron for not understanding this. It’s no wonder most of his business ventures flopped.

The fact is that if Western Europe put their full might behind Ukraine, Russia would melt like ice cream in the hot sun. Ukraine doesn’t even need US support. If Europe readies itself for war (specifically with regard to manufacturing and a willingness to not stop until they’ve job is done), shows Russia they’re done talking, and floods Ukraine with European weapons (which simultaneously helps Europe separate itself from the US weapons industry—a good thing by itself), Russia is fucked.

Side note: Putin can threaten nuclear war against Western Europe all he likes, but killing every Russian soldier in Ukraine still doesn’t rise to the level of an existential threat to Russia, and both the UK and France also have nukes as a deterrent against their use. When Putin threatens nuclear war, the UK and France should say, “Do it again, and we’ll send Ukraine nukes, and we won’t even tell you until they’ve got them.”

Bullies like Putin (and Trump) understand only the language of force. Learn to speak it fluently.

    26. soysubstitute on

Listen Ukraine, Trump wants to sell you out, so do what you have to do.

    27. I hope this means he got some solid promises of support from the Coalition of the Willing.

Trump is just itching to find a reason to cut off Ukraine from US and NATO support. He’ll exert whatever influence he can against any nation that supports Ukraine. So the Coalition of the Willing has to be promising to stand up to Trump’s bullying as a cohesive unit.

      Biggest oxymoron ever?

      American intelligence.

For those of you in the US an oxymoron isn’t a drug.

    29. BernieTheDachshund on

Ukraine has been hitting Russia and doing a good job of hitting oil refineries and rail lines.

    30. He just can’t use US long range missiles but that is the why they are making their own
