I agree we should stop buying it. We should also join America in putting tariffs on India for supporting the invasion of Ukraine.

    3. Why dont the just adhere to the price cap – everyone but Russia would be happy

If Europe stopped buying Russian oil, the entire country would collapse within a year.

But profits matter more than lives.

Greed at any cost taking the opportunity of cheep Russian sanction oil to make money for themselves they just don’t care but that’s India for you!

The United States and Europe can sanction India, India can stop crying and face its consequences for supporting Russia.

    7. Bro, what’s with these people? India this, India that… Meanwhile, Turkey, a NATO member (yes, it is, no matter what you say), is one of the largest buyers of Russian oil. They can’t even keep their own bloc in check but want to lecture the world on how to run its trade.

First the American put a Price cap on Russian oil, and asks India to purchase oil from Russia at the decided Price cap, so Oil Prices do not rise globally and Russia doesnt profit or extremely less profit margins.

Then India starts buying Oil cheaper because of the Price cap as „decided by America“ .But Very soon India became one of the biggest Exporters of Refined Oil & Petro Chemicals which started effecting the market and profits and clients of American Oil Companies that’s why America is putting extra tarrifs on India but not China because China is only a Consumer.

So basically America is targeting India’s export to benefit the American companies . Sorry to say this but America doesn’t give 2 f** s about Ukraine .

PS – It will be interesting to see the What reaction and position will Europe and Ukraine will take when America takes Millitary action against Venezuela.

Strawman fallacy. Technically they have a problem with India buying russian crude.

India is a sovereign country and has the right to buy Russian crude if they want to do so. However it does not have the right to export goods and services to the EU and to the US. That is a privilege given to them, and privileges can be taken away.

Why did India pick a corner in the Russo-Ukranian war? If they had remained economically non-aligned, instead of trying to cash in on cheap Russian oil, they wouldn’t have created this issue.

    11. Glittering_Net_7734 on

This is why EU isn’t respected so much despite Trump blabbering about. Their rhetoric keeps saying that Putin is Hitler, and yet they can’t stop sucking Russian oil and gas.

They cannot put their money where their mouth is. They saw what happened to Crimea, then forgot about it and proceeded with the Nord Stream 2….

India intermixes Russian crude with crude from other sources, and uses a network of shadow transfers to further obscure it. It almost impossible to determine what is/is not crude from a Russian source. Either we continue to buy from India or we have a complete embargo on all Indian crude. Those are the choices. Getting the world to embargo Indian crude would be almost impossible at this point.

    13. *“If people have a problem with drug dealers, people should stop buying drugs. The drug dealer is just a middleman providing a service. If they didn’t, someone else would.”*

      Is that the argument?

    14. NA_0_10_never_forget on

He is right and India is honestly not very involved in the conflict.
