Any active duty/active reserve “officers” here who can explain to me the concept of lawful orders? Because there’s a lot of…. General misunderstanding from the general public (myself included) and I’d like some understanding.
Who decides an order is lawful? If it is decided that the order is unlawful, who has the authority to push back against the order and chain of command? What is the process for evaluating if an order is lawful vs. unlawful?
Inevitability the responsibility falls upon the officers so I’d like to understand how this process works.
