“Taiwan President Lai Ching-te said on Friday he hoped defence spending would reach 5% of gross domestic product before 2030, upping a target of bolstering the island’s military budget that Washington has pushed for.
The previous day, the government said next year’s defence budget would reach 3.32% of GDP, including for the first time spending on the coast guard, among other areas, to align with what Premier Cho Jung-tai said was the „NATO model””

Means China will likely accelerate their plans to invade Taiwan. They are all ready on the clock as is due to their aging population. But while it’s good Taiwan is doing this, it will make China react which could turn bad especially if US decides to abandon Taiwan which with the people in Power, wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
