    1. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned that forcing Ukraine to concede territory to Russia as part of Trump’s peace plan would be a “trap” that only strengthens Putin.

Russia hasn’t conceded a thing, it’s only escalated. Real security means backing Ukraine with strength, not rewarding an aggressor for mass killing.

Pootin wants full capitulation and the orange narcissist is helping him achieve those goals.

Russia doesn’t fear the West. It knows it can withstand casualties the West would find unacceptable. There will never be a better time to rid the world of significant Russian influence than now.

Personally, I think Russia fell into a trap when it invaded Ukraine—one that was set when it first invaded Crimea. From an EU/UK/US point of view, the war was (pre Trump) going amazingly: significantly weakening a long-term adversary at the cost of zero military personnel. If we had actually wanted the war to end, we would have sent enough to finish the job. Instead, we’ve bled the “Russian bear” for the last three years at the cost of Ukrainian blood.

Perception is everything. If Ukraine cedes territory to Russia, Russia will claim victory, regardless of the cost to itself. Russia and its people need to know they have lost this war.

What’s stopping Putin from getting the land then going back to the war in a few years? America has proven they won’t get involved because of trump and EU can’t afford to continuously send money to Ukraine
