News snippet: Donald Trump has ruled out sending US troops to Ukraine to enforce a potential peace deal with Vladimir Putin, tempering a promise to provide Kyiv with security guarantees that European allies had called a significant breakthrough towards halting the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Asked during a phone interview with Fox News whether he could assure listeners – including many members of his Maga base who support an isolationist America-first foreign policy – that the US would not put troops on the ground in Ukraine, he said: “You have my assurance, and I’m president.”
Trump did, however, say Washington may be willing to provide air support to Ukraine in order to backstop a deal, in what would still be a remarkable shift in his administration’s policy on the conflict.
“There’ll be some form of security. It can’t be Nato,” he said, ruling out Ukraine’s admission to the transatlantic bloc. “They’re willing to put people on the ground. We’re willing to help them with things, especially, probably, if you could talk about by air.”

Then there is no security guarantee, simple as that.

Everyone knows Donald doesn’t have a drop of loyalty or ethics in his bones. Better that he’s came out and said this so at least all of the pro-Putin MAGA propagandists won’t be able to pretend that there is a US security guarantee, even in theory.

Name a country where the US offered security guarantees and they actually upheld those assurances? I’ll help you out…… none.
When Ukraine gave up its nuclear arsenal the US promised security guarantees. Then came Crimea

I wouldn’t put it past him to send troops to help Russia.

So he’s expecting to give up nothing, expecting Russia to give up nothing, and expecting Ukraine to give up everything.

Why will Trump or any US President would send US troops to fight Russia when Ukrainian are doing their job for them .
Like the mujahideens fought against USSR , the Ukrainians are fighting Russia both are funded by America . US is not only fighting Russia without sending a single soilder but even Profiting from it .
Edit – Afghanistan became the launchpad for war against USSR , the same way Ukraine became the launch pad for war against Russia .

He said he would consider it yesterday, than Putin called and he ran out of his meeting with word leaders to make sure Putin wasn’t waiting to talk to him. Then today changed his mind.

So when it’s a country in the Middle East it’s all good because we can manipulate the government afterwards. But when it comes to helping an ally protect their sovereignty the U.S. is like nahhhhh

well at that point they should just be part of NATO. This really is not that surprising given the previous statements.

Good. This is one thing I can get behind. There are 30 member countries in NATO that are in Europe and have a much larger stake in serving as a peace keeping force than either the US or Canada, the two non-European countries.
