Could, but would they ? Doubt he is going to disappoint his new best friend after Epstein.

Maybe could, maybe would, maybe not. “If mushrooms could grow directly in my mouth I would be not hungry”

Yes, the same Trump that betrayed the Kurds in northern Syria? Im sure we can trust him for his words.

Trump says a lot of things with no purpose or intention to follow through

    5. rogue-iceberg on

He amended it saying, “Don’t worry, they’ll be wearing sandals. No boots on the ground!!”

Lol. Do it, Trump. I wanna see MAGA jump through just a few more mental hoops to justify this as, „America first“, especially after blasting Biden for sending old military equipment to them.

Who in their right mind would believe Trump would put American boots on the ground in Ukraine?

Unless they were to support Russia, I suppose.

    8. TonkaHeroDreamCake on

Then just have them join NATO.

      Pledging troops isn’t saying much.

From my knowledge, I see two outcomes:

      1. He doesn’t. No big surprise. He’s typically a lot of talk.

      2. He does. MAGA crowd gets angry cause, from what I recall, he ran on a campaign that promised no more boots on the ground for other countries.

(Secret 3rd option: Boots in Ukraine, and MAGA praises it and ignores that above campaign promise)

What an insane timeline it is where if American boots are on the ground, I’d genuinely be unsure of what side they were fighting on.

Are the US soldiers that are stationed in Ukraine going to roll out the red carpet for Russian soldiers to march through Ukraine with no resistance?

    12. U.S. troops already laid the red carpet for Putin they’d probably just help target whomever is head of state in Ukraine

    13. So we’re doing Russia’s occupation for them? The flag on the tank is starting to make sense

    14. Trump people’s stating that they will base U. S. Troops in the Ukraine? That sounds like a bad idea to me.

    15. Student-type on

Well, he has such a loyal MAGA base, let’s deploy them. They love guns right?

    16. I think we all should think that this concept of Security Guarantees is kind of an empty goal.

    17. UnionGuyCanada on

Sure, and Trump could release the Epstein files….

They already owe Ukraine security guarantees for giving up nukes.

    18. Not sure I’d trust this commitment. In exchange for letting go of the Nukes they had the US was party to security commitments. Russia has attacked twice with no onsite commitments by the US coalition. With a current president whose “mind” changes frequently and the possibility of the next president not rendering aid at his/her discretion it would be a poor gamble on Ukraine’s part.

    19. So what happens when Russia attacks the US troops? And if you think that won’t happen, remember when Trump withdrew all forces from Syria because of just phone call from Putin? It absolutely will happen, and Trump will fold like the house of cards he is, just like last time.

    20. And Trump could stop being Putin’s bitch. Not going to happen, be he could!

    21. I wouldn’t trust them not to “Order 66” the Ukraine leadership and military.

    22. What if Trump ordered it and all of our troops got bone spurs just like Epstein’s buddy?

    23. Could you imagine Putin going for that prior to the Trump administration? Me neither.

    24. MAGA will go apoplectic if he sends US troops, even as part of a security guarantee.

    25. FirefighterFunny9859 on

Guess what, MAGAs? He’s not going to sending queer kids. He’s sending yours.

I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to think that Trump’s “joke” about cancelling elections in wartime is exactly what he’s going to do. Trump is the best thing Putin could hope for in regard to foreign policy. I wouldn’t put it past him to sacrifice some Russian soldiers and prisoners to allow Trump to justify the US entering the war.

    27. Why does Ukraine need it though. Wouldn’t the security guarantee be all of Europe and america going to war? Is it maybe because the Ukrainians wouldn’t want Americans here because they’re waving Russian flags on their ifvs as trump dictates?

Nice, last time the us used military as peacekeeping officers worked out well for every country and their politics today around US military bases.

I think history shows you need something else than the military to occupy and support a country after a war when for some reason they can’t do it themselves. There’s no need for American soldiers to occupy Ukraine to keep it safe unless Donnie wants a new war to start under his presidency

    28. CatalyticDragon on

Trump has repeatedly talked about taking Ukraine’s natural resources but he’s never mentioned wanting peace, stability, or accountability for an invading dictator.

    29. chewingtheham on

Security guarantee = makes sure Ukraine doesn’t get anything back with the rest of natos help, or is the equivalent of the referee who holds them back while Russia takes more.

Hahahah yes send the broccoli tops to Donetsk. Killer Kamala would never.
