      Trump is okay with all of this because he thinks Russia is a hedge against China. After watching this war, Russia isn’t a hedge against any global power.

      This is almost a non-story at this point. The main sticking points are non-NATO security guarantees and giving Russia additional territory it does not occupy. Giving more territory seems like a hard no and for good reason, giving Russia the rest of the Donbass gives them a platform behind Ukraine’s defenses. Maybe if the security guarantees are strong enough they’d consider it but with no one offering troops I doubt it

He’s raised the prices on loads of stuff for them, brought the tourist industry to its knees, bombed another country and was named in the Epstein files then REFUSED to release them!       They’ve said over and over they won’t accept any terms that don’t having *binding* protections. And Putin has proven he respects nothing short of full article 5 protections that automatically trigger all of Europe going to war with him if he sets a pinky toe on Ukrainian soil.

      If they accept anything less than NATO membership, they’ll just be doing this again in 10 years.

      Nothing about this is new or novel information.

      Mr. Dealmaker can’t get his head around someone refusing a deal because it’s worse than not having one.

      Any deal that doesn’t have serious, painful and damaging repercussions for Putin, for *when* he next wants to break the deal and take more land…that deal is worthless.

      I don’t understand why reporters apparently don’t get this. Then again I don’t understand how Trump is so thick about it either.

      Maybe he’s just glad to have something to distract from him breaking his campaign promise to release the Epstein files.
