      I wonder if we will ever know Trump’s own reasons for why he has been so soft on Putin and his regime over the years.

      The Russians have never shown any outward warmth for him. Their state media literally responded to his 2024 victory by airing nude photos of his wife.

      This has nothing to do with thanking Trump. Think of the psychological impact on a typical Ukraine soldier seeing the two flags together. This is psyops to demoralize Ukraine.
