Putin is absolutely not going to agree to security guarantees for Ukraine unless Zelensky gives up the Donbas and Crimea which he’s not going to do.
No deal is going to come out of this. It’s not that Putin and Zelensky don’t want peace, it’s that peace isn’t possible.
I hope Ukraine can hold out with Europe’s support for 3 more years until the US can help them.

Trump already denied the EU entourage joining the private meeting.

And before anyone doubts, Zelensky asked her to join him (Ursula confirmed it on twitter).
Ukraine received security assurances from the US in 1994, and look what that got them.

Peace isn’t on the table, not really. The best we could possibly hope for is an armistice. If we get that, there’s no telling how long it would last. In my view it would just give both sides time to re-arm. Better than nothing though.
All these talks are such a waste of time, energy and resources.
– Putin doesn’t want peace, he wants the Ukrainian Identity fully and permanently erased.
– Zelensky will never give up parts of Ukraine
Due to these two reasons alone, peace is impossible, one side has to lose completely. Aside from this, the following is also true:
– Trump is a fascist, pedophilic moron and a russian asset, this is all smoke and mirrors, he is not interested, nor capable, of accomplishing anything for this war. If the US had a different, democratic president who isn’t a literal traitor and criminal, such a meeting would hold far more possibilities.
