Wir haben die Pflege unserer Eltern völlig ausgelagert. Und gleichzeitig sind wir uns "besorgt, warum so viele Ausländer in Zypern so viele Ausländer"

  1. You can care for your parents and still have in-home helper because you can’t be around 24/7

  2. These people offer services at low rates that few, if any, local Cypriots are willing to provide. And in the video, they are trying to become more effective at providing these services by learning basic phrases, but you feel bad because they are foreigners?
Personally, I feel nothing but appreciation when I see these foreigners living in our homes and striving to improve their skills in the difficult task of caring for the elderly.

  3. People are overworked and the system is broken. Pay in general is shit. It’s too expensive to get help from the government or via local routes. What do you want people to do? Better than putting them in a home, at least they can be with their loved ones still or in their own home. We have a guy who lives with my grandmother and my aunt came from England. She loves him, he’s a good lad. Does all the heavy lifting for them.

The foreigners part sure, fuck that.

I promise you if you don’t make politics the center of your life you will be at least 10 times happier

Feel sad about the prevalence of €500, or less, pensions and half of the population living on salaries of €1,500 or less – half of which would be eaten up by rent if you’re frugal and decide to live in a dilapidated one bedroom apartment.

They’re people too and at least they’re trying to learn some of the language.

  6. Big respect, nobody is concerned why those people are in Cyprus , nobody is concerned about foreigners in Cyprus. People are concerned about illegal immigration. Learn the difference. These people come legally and cause no trouble, they solve problems.

  7. Hey OP. Do you personally care for your parents? Like 24/7 when they are old and ill?

This means you don’t work and don’t earn money because you nee to be caring.

I’m not concerned that there are foreigners in Cyprus and personally think that any society not willing to become multi cultural to a degree is doomed to fail miserably. They seem like good people trying to make an honest wage and to improve their lives. Good luck to them and I hope they have great lives and integrate into our community, adding their own flavor.

My grandfather and mother rejected elderly care home for my grandmother(alzheimer).

At some point a caregiver needed and my father kept saying grandmother needs intensive care in a facility.
My grandmother lived 8 years with this arrangement, at the end her condition deterited so much everbody convinced she would be better at a care house. She died at the care house after 3 days.

Long story short elderly care giving requires medical care giving in many cituations and helper or proffessional help shouldnt be condired as a choise.

Many cituations it is a must have especially dimentia and alzheimer cases.

P.S. my mother, father, aunty, aunties husband etc all are medical doctors and being a doctor doesnt change this cituation when proffesional care needed.

Even as a guy who is very critical of EU handling of immigration. I don’t see a problem with this. They seem like good people who want to improve the country they are living in, big respect for them.
