In this year’s preface for the State Department’s annual human rights report, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the report “documents ongoing grave human rights abuses in the People’s Republic of China (PRC).”
“For example, in Xinjiang, the PRC continues to carry out genocide, crimes against humanity, forced labor, and other human rights violations against predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups,” Blinken said in the preface.
Last year, fifty-one United Nations member countries issued a joint declaration condemning the Chinese government’s crimes against humanity committed against Uyghurs and other Turkic communities, and calling on Beijing to end its systematic human rights abuses in the Xinjiang region.
The UN report corroborated the findings of [Human Rights Watch](https://www.hrw.org/report/2021/04/19/break-their-lineage-break-their-roots/chinas-crimes-against-humanity-targeting), [Amnesty International](https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2021/06/china-draconian-repression-of-muslims-in-xinjiang-amounts-to-crimes-against-humanity/)~,~ and others regarding mass detention, torture, cultural persecution, forced labor, and other serious rights violations against Turkic Muslim communities in Xinjiang.
The State Department report, published Monday, comes ahead of a critical visit by Blinken to China scheduled for later in the week.
USA: GENOCIDE IN CHINA!
Also USA: Oh no, here is a 20 billion aid my dear Israel.
USA and it’s foreign policy is losing more relevancy everyday sadly.
Edit: Just to clarify things, i don’t support neither of these countries on how they treat their “minorities” or “supressed” ethnicities but if stuff was as bad as USA claims, we would’ve seen multiple photos of famine, dead (or any other sort of solid evidence) children as we see in Gaza so no, while there is definitely shady and bad stuff going on in Xinjiang, i don’t think it can reach the level of attrocities that innocent people see in Gaza.
